Great Neck is a region on Long Island, New York, that covers a peninsula on the North Shore of Long Island, which includes 9 villages, including the villages of Great Neck, Great Neck Estates, Great Neck Plaza, a number of unincorporated areas, as well as an area south of the peninsula near Lake Success and the border territory of Queens. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s House, which was loosely referred to in his novel, The Great Gatsby, is located in Great Neck. Kings Point is referred to as “West Egg”, a prosperous neighborhood in the North of Great Neck, once known for its prevalence of “new money” in the novel.
